First furniture.....

Well, Jeff came home from the fire station yesterday with a white wooden bassinet from a friend. He said he was throwing it out (his 3 kids are older) and if we wanted to have it we are more than welcome.

We had already decided to use Jeff's baby bassinet from when he was little in our room the first few months but this one is very light weight and easy to take apart. We might leave the wooden one in Corpus at Mimi and Grandpa's to use when we visit them! :)

Either way, if we use it or not, it was a nice gesture of his friend to give us! We are very thankful.

10 week ultasound picture

Here is the baby at 10 weeks. (I'm 12 now -- YAY for being finished with the first trimester!)
The head is on the right arms on either side, and if you tilt your head to the right a little you can see the 2 black dots (eyes) and ears :)
Enjoy!
We will have another one coming on July 30th for our 15 week checkup.

almost 12 weeks....

Well this Saturday I will be 3 months! Seems like time is flying as I'm already 1/3 of the way through my pregnancy.

I've had my ups and downs that's for sure.... we went to the Dr. a couple weeks ago to hear the heartbeat. Dr. Rao said it was still a bit early for us to hear it, so she did a doppler ultrasound on my belly and got a heartrate reading of 206! Normal is 160-200. Supposively boys heartrates are much slower than girls - in the 140's. Maybe this means we're having a little ballerina? Or just a really hyper Jeff Jr! :)

We go back to the Dr. on July 30th to hear the heart, and have my check up. Then we go again August 28th which is when we should be finding out the sex of the baby. The timeframe for the Dr. to be able to see what your having is usually 16-20 weeks. I will be 15 and 19 at the next 2 appointments so we will wait and see! Is it going to be a little fireman or a ballerina?

9 1/2 weeks

Well, I haven't been posting lately. That's because I've been hugging the comode and my office trashcan throwing everything up in sight! ha

I'm finally feeling better once I hit 9 weeks last Saturday. Thank GOODNESS!!! I haven't had to take any of my anti-nausea/vomiting meds at all which I'm so grateful for.
We went to the Dr. on Friday the 19th. The baby is growing and healthy with a strong heartbeat! It measured the exact size it should be (1 inch!) and was absolutely adorable. Here is a picture of the ultrasound..... it's so precious and as soon as I saw it on the screen all of the dry heaving, weight loss and dehydration was worth every second. MY little angel!! It brought tears to our eyes.... :)

I go back this coming Monday because Dr. Rao wants to make sure I haven't lost any more weight. Last week I managed to drop 5 lbs pretty quick....(Which luckily I haven't) I have been eating really good since last weekend and have kept it all down. All of my tests came back great (urine, blood, etc.) I was really nervous about getting my blood taken. I hate needles!! The nurse I had was wonderful and Jeff stood there to help me take my mind off the 8-10 vials she was filling.... I felt so brave after I finished :) (I'm a chicken!)

I'm working part time (1:00-5pm) for a while. My boss felt so bad for me while I was trying to do payroll, reconciliations and pay bills throwing up in between each phone call :) I'm so glad I have a boss who is understanding. I plan to go back working full time soon, because Lord knows it's hard financially on us.

I will be back soon for another update. Love you all!

7 weeks tomorrow, finally some relief....

Well the Zofran from Dr. Rao stopped working. I have felt miserable ALL WEEK and could barely function at work. I worked 2 hours on Tuesday and 3 hours on Wednesday. Yesterday was my first day to complete a full work day and I don't know how I did it...... I was miserable with extreme nausea. I called Dr. Rao and she prescribed me 2 other medications (there are 3 that are safe for pregnancy and the first did nothing for me other than give me horrible migraines). I am now on Reglan every 6 hours, and Phenergan every 6 hours. It usually hits between 9:30-12:30 everyday while I'm at work. I end up laying my head on my desk and end up almost in tears praying it will go away. Today is the first day in 2 weeks I've felt any sort of relief from it all. It is now 11:10 and my stomach started growling and my appetite reappeared. I just ate a chicken biscuit, some fuit and am sipping on a G2 Lemon Lime Gatorade. Please pray that these new options work for me and I don't suffer any longer!

Here is a picture of these dorky sea-bands I've been wearing. They are sold at Walgreens to prevent sea sickness/motion sickness and have also been proven to help pregnant women with severe morning sickness. The white plastic piece on the band is rounded underneath and presses on your accupressure point to prevent nausea. Although I look like I'm ready to go work out with these 2 grey sweat bands on my wrists (yes, at work) they are helping so I don't care HOW I look at this point. haha

Cravings....

Right now I am LOVING mashed potatoes. :)

6 Weeks!

Email update from "thebump.com"...

Baby's now the size of a sweet pea! Growing like crazy, baby is starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks, and chin. Those little hands and feet -- still webbed like paddles -- might wiggle by week's end, the heart is beating (almost twice as fast as yours!), and blood is starting to circulate.

HOW AMAZING is all of this? Every week there is something new, developed and beautiful created inside my belly. I am definitely feeling the effects.... trying not to take my anti-nausea medicine as much as possible but it's extremely hard because it makes me feel 100 times better.

Had a wonderful weekend with our friends Brandon and Valerie - they came into town and stayed with us. We had a nice breakfast Sunday morning and then went antiquing in Montrose and saw some beautiful wood furniture and collectibles. It was extremely hot out. After walking around there, we went to Ikea and shopped. We got new cushions for our dining rooms chairs in light kacki. We also got a new bathroom rug, and a few accent pieces (lamp shade and candles) to match! After shopping til we dropped, we went to one of our favorite sushi restaurants near the house. Of course, I can only have the cooked sushi, nothing raw. I ordered the Volcano Roll and boy was it delicious. Had some edamamme for an appetizer and then we went home and I took a long nap (I was worn out - gimmie a break! I'm making a baby!) lol.... I woke up after a couple hours and we all watched Marley and Me - SUCH a cute movie and definitely worth renting. Here I am today, back at work for another week. But not just any week - week 6 of my growing sweet pea! :)

Talk soon! -- Jen
(P.S. I have 6 week pictures we took... I will upload them tomorrow)
