15 weeks check- up

Well everything went great! We heard the heartbeat for the first time which was amazing! It was 156. (They say boys heartrates are 140 and below, so ya never know!)

My belly measured 15 centimeters from top to bottom which was on track. Supposively it should measure how many weeks you are and since I'm 15 it was where it should be. Yay!

Here are a couple pictures Jeff took while we were in the room with the nurse waiting on Dr. Rao. :)

Update!

Well, I will be 15 weeks this weekend. We see Dr. Rao this coming Thursday to hear the heartbeat and have my monthly check-up.

We have another appointment Saturday, August 8th at an imaging center for a 10 minute ultrasound, pictures, and DVD video set to music as a keepsake. They have imaging centers in Houston that do 3D/4D ultrasounds. We will be getting one of those when I'm further along, but for now we will be getting just the 2D. It seems like the Dr. is always so quick to check on the baby that we only get to see it on the monitor for what seems like a second! We are really excited to watch it on the big screen and enjoy every moment captured on Video of our little peach.

Here is a picture of Hank lovin' on Mama. Also, my belly at 14 1/2 weeks. It's growing by the day :)

13 wks, My Little Peach

I get these weekly emails from 2 pregnancy websites - they had a picture of a baby at 13 weeks on a 3-D ultrasound. I just had to paste it here - it was amazing!
The email update I received said the baby is now the size of a peach! This week, it's forming teeth and vocal chords. Fingerprints have also formed.

Here is a picture of the size of baby Garza in mama's womb.
Feeling great with tons of energy. I love this baby so much already!

2nd Trimester Heaven

Well I have been feeling so much better these days! I am sooooo glad. Yesterday after work I picked up lunch at La Madeline's for my aunt Joni and I and took it to her house. After that, I went shopping for my brother's 30th birthday and walked around a couple stores for 3 hours (in heels!) and got some great exercise just browsing around in the cool A/C!

After I got home I cleaned up the apartment, did laundry, painted a flower pot we had laying around to put bills/mail in since Jeff wanted something to organize our mail - ha! Then I cooked a delicious spaghetti dinner with garlic toast and when Jeff walked in the door from work his plate was warm and ready waiting for him.

I'm enjoying the spurts of energy this little baby is giving me. I finally feel awake, alert and excited all the time! (for almost 2 months I was confined to the couch or bed, miserably sick and hardly eating so this has been huge for me).

We go see the Dr. in 2 weeks from today and are looking forward to every appointment as always.

First furniture.....

Well, Jeff came home from the fire station yesterday with a white wooden bassinet from a friend. He said he was throwing it out (his 3 kids are older) and if we wanted to have it we are more than welcome.

We had already decided to use Jeff's baby bassinet from when he was little in our room the first few months but this one is very light weight and easy to take apart. We might leave the wooden one in Corpus at Mimi and Grandpa's to use when we visit them! :)

Either way, if we use it or not, it was a nice gesture of his friend to give us! We are very thankful.

10 week ultasound picture

Here is the baby at 10 weeks. (I'm 12 now -- YAY for being finished with the first trimester!)
The head is on the right arms on either side, and if you tilt your head to the right a little you can see the 2 black dots (eyes) and ears :)
Enjoy!
We will have another one coming on July 30th for our 15 week checkup.

almost 12 weeks....

Well this Saturday I will be 3 months! Seems like time is flying as I'm already 1/3 of the way through my pregnancy.

I've had my ups and downs that's for sure.... we went to the Dr. a couple weeks ago to hear the heartbeat. Dr. Rao said it was still a bit early for us to hear it, so she did a doppler ultrasound on my belly and got a heartrate reading of 206! Normal is 160-200. Supposively boys heartrates are much slower than girls - in the 140's. Maybe this means we're having a little ballerina? Or just a really hyper Jeff Jr! :)

We go back to the Dr. on July 30th to hear the heart, and have my check up. Then we go again August 28th which is when we should be finding out the sex of the baby. The timeframe for the Dr. to be able to see what your having is usually 16-20 weeks. I will be 15 and 19 at the next 2 appointments so we will wait and see! Is it going to be a little fireman or a ballerina?
